Looking for something to do with your students on that half day before Thanksgiving break? We've got you covered with two brand new open-middle puzzles. An open middle problem is a challenging problem that allows for multiple solution methods. There are often constraints about which digits students can use to solve the puzzle. The puzzles we're sharing today have multiple right answers and we offer the extension of having students figure out if they've found them all.
Since we want students still stretching their math muscles, the content of these puzzles are directly related to the AP Precalculus course. The first puzzle is about rational functions and the second puzzle is about exponential functions. You can give just one or give both, depending on where you are in the curriculum.
