If you're reading this and it's almost Thanksgiving, congratulations! You’ve made it through the hardest stretch of the school year.
Although our school calendars are all a little different, those last couple days before break can feel a little wonky. With half days and assemblies and students leaving early for break (and teacher exhaustion!), it may not be the best time to introduce related rates. In our class we like to use the half-day before break to do a Thanksgiving themed Calculus review. In this Calculus color-by-number activity, students will work on 10 problems of mixed review from Units 1-4. You can anticipate the activity taking between 20 and 30 minutes.
Students will need colored pencils and the activity handout for today's Thanksgiving Calculus review. Students will work on 10 questions related to limits and derivatives that each have four answer choices. Their answer choice will determine what color they will use to shade in the numbered region. The answer to question 1 will determine the color of the regions marked 1 on the coloring page, and so on. The coloring page can be found on the last page of the activity handout.

We have students work in groups on the activity and usually bring some kind of treat for them to enjoy while working. This is a low-key day before break activity, or something you can send home with kids over break if you so choose.
We hope you and your students enjoy this light-hearted Thanksgiving Calculus review!
