"It was pretty vanilla"
That was a text message we got from one AP Stats teacher after the 2025 exam questions were released. Just like vanilla ice cream, the 2025 questions were good and there were no big surprises. Even most students felt like free response question #6 (the Investigative Task) was quite approachable.
One consistent theme that we saw three times on the exam was using data to make a conclusion to a significance test. We love this because it requires students to have a good understanding of the holy grail of AP Statistics, the p-value.
As far as predictions, we chose the wrong significance test but were right on a few other guesses (compare distributions, define binomial variable, sampling methods).
