Gearing up to teach a new AP course can be daunting. Our goal at Calc Medic is to make sure you have everything you need to teach AP Precalculus. This includes lessons for every day of class, assessments, and plenty of review activities to prepare your students for the AP Exam.
One additional step AP teachers must take every year is to complete the College Board Course Audit. This process involves:
Committing to teach the CED
Submitting a textbook
Uploading a course syllabus
The syllabus the College Board is looking for may not be the one you hand out to students at the beginning of the school year. Instead, it is a detailed document outlining how you intend to teach your course to ensure that all the CED topics in Units 1-3 are covered, as well as how you will support students in fostering the mathematical practices outlined for AP Precalculus.

What About a Textbook?
In the past, the College Board has required that students have access to a textbook in an online or print format. At our school, we had already ditched the textbook altogether in Precalculus and we don’t see any reason to bring one back. The new AP Precalculus course has several content items that are not contained in our old book (regression, semi-log plots, concavity, selecting function models, among others), but more importantly, Calc Medic resources provide all the benefits that a textbook would traditionally provide.
The Calc Medic resources have officially been approved as a textbook alternative and are available in the drop-down of pre-approved "textbooks"!
